Patrick Schwenk grew up going to church wearing clip-on ties, uncomfortable shirts, pants that were too short, and shoes that were too tight (at least that is how he remembers feeling). He was born, raised, and then born again within a conservative evangelical home (and church) in the Midwest. Today, he still loves the church and is thankful to both serve and lead others toward Jesus. He is a father, husband, pastor, and creator of The Dig for Kids. Patrick and his wife Ruth met while attending the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. They have been married for fourteen years and currently have four children ages three to ten. They love serving in ministry, spending time together as a family, reading, drinking lots of coffee, and resting in God’s grace.

Scott McLucas did not grow up in church, study psychology, or attend any parenting conferences, but has found himself the father of seven children—four biological and three that he and his wife Carolyn are fostering to adopt. The two oldest boys are 21 and 19 and away at college, the girls are 17 and 15 and in public high school, and the three youngest boys are 3½, 2½ and 1½. While he has not been a perfect father by any means, God has taught him some valuable lessons over the years and entrusted him with some nuggets of wisdom that may be of value to others.

Chad Smith Born, bred, and presently residing in North Carolina, I’ve moved our family 13 times in 17 years of marriage…and I’m not in the military. Based on titles, experience, and responsibilities I’d identify myself as a Husband, Father, Pastor, Teacher, Business Owner, and Dreamer. I’m proudly married to the popular blogger The Nester and we both enjoy a vivacious life with our 3 boys and Jack, our chocolate lab. I’m passionate about family, friends, and the Grace of God. I rarely go a day without praying, hugging, coffee, chocolate, listening to music, and reading. I keep light-hearted by enjoying golf, camping, duck hunting, Goodwills, and watching movies. I’m most at peace when at home but will jump at any opportunity to travel. I enjoy sports and thanks to my boys, I have a strange affinity to hockey…I love watching it and watching them play it. I believe the world would function much better if we all used Apple products. I consider myself loyal, animated, hopeful, and daring.
